Hayashi Enkai -Remake-

Well, anything is better than a recolour, but he's a bit over the top. When you're making these characters, ask yourself if a character like this would look out of place near canon characters or whether he'd stand out too much. Also, ask yourself whether something is a good design choice. For example, would having a bare chest benefit him in battle, or would it be detrimental (eg. leaving him open to attacks) to the point where someone would logically make a remark about how dangerous something about the character is. Make sure that what you give a character has a purpose rather than multiple things that are placed there for the purpose of looking cool as this can often look rather bad. Sometimes, the it's just that the character is a little too cluttered. Try to remove some things and make him a little less wild so that he'd logically fit in with the rest of the cast. You don't need to remove the aspects entirely. They may just need to be moved to a less conspicuous area. Originality is good. Brilliant, even. The problem is with a character being too original.
